We Got Tired of Google Meet's Limits — So We Built Our Own

If you've run a business in India and relied on Google Meet for client calls, team standups, or interviews, you've probably hit the same walls we did. The free plan cuts group calls off at 60 minutes — right when a client conversation is finally getting somewhere. Recording and transcripts sit behind a paid Google Workspace plan. And if the person joining your call doesn't have a Gmail account, getting them into the meeting smoothly isn't always as simple as it should be.

We ran into this enough times that we decided to just build our own solution instead of working around someone else's limits. That's how Biz499 Meet came to be.

What Biz499 Meet Actually Does Differently

We didn't set out to copy Google Meet feature-for-feature. We built it around the specific frustrations we kept running into:

No time limit on calls. Whether it's a 20-minute check-in or a 3-hour client workshop, the meeting doesn't cut off mid-sentence.

No login required for guests. Anyone you invite can join with a link — no Google account, no sign-up wall, no friction for clients who just want to hop on a call.

Free recording. Capture your meetings without needing a paid plan tier to unlock it.

It's still early days for us, and we're not pretending to have built a feature-complete enterprise platform overnight. Transcripts and a few other features are actively in the pipeline — we'd rather ship something solid and keep building than launch with a long feature list we can't fully stand behind yet.

Who Biz499 Meet Is Built For

This isn't built for Fortune 500 IT departments evaluating compliance checklists. It's built for the businesses we work with every day — small teams, growing agencies, freelancers, and Indian SMBs who need a reliable way to meet clients and teammates without paying for features they don't need, or working around limits that get in the way of actually getting things done.

How to Try It

Head to meet.biz499.com, start or join a meeting, and see it for yourself. No account needed to join — that part we got right from day one.

Why We're Building This in the Open

We're a web development and digital marketing agency first, and a video tool is a slightly unusual thing for us to build. But the truth is, we needed it for our own client calls, and once we built something that solved our problem, it made sense to put it out there for anyone else dealing with the same headaches.
